This morning we started with a really good breakfast at the hotel and headed out to the notary's office at about 8:45. Thanks for all of your prayers for safety - God is answering! At one point a car came within 6 inches of hitting us but thankfully, no wreck! We finished our paperwork at the notary's office and headed toward the Orphanage to see S.S. He was very glad to see us. He came and gave me an extremely big hug. We looked at videos and letters from Keith and my families, played UNO, built a lego truck, and visited. He seemed very comfortable around us and I'm pretty sure he is ready to come home with us right now. The orphanage workers said that he is so excited about being a part of our family! The orphanage director is also excited and told S.S. today "Your dream has come true!" and he smiled! Later, the counselor and I were talking today about S.S. and the other children at Solotcha. I was telling her that if we could we would find homes for all the children there. She and I cried a little together before she told me the importance of us adopting S.S. She told me he has no family at all. She also said that it was last year that he wrote Santa saying that he had been very good and all that he wanted for Christmas was a family. She turned to him and said, "You are getting your wish!" And again he smiled! Then she turned to me and said "You made the right choice!"
God is so good!
Today was really hard to see all the other children. We have been going to this orphanage for 3 years so we know most of the kids and love them all. I definitely saw it in some of their eyes that they were wishing for the same - a forever family. Please pray that God will comfort and protect their little hearts. They are really well taken care of at this specific orphanage but that can never replace the sense of belonging that only a family environment can. I left the orphanage broken for the other children. Let's all pray!
Love y'all and thank you for journeying along side of us!
